DIY content isn't low-hanging fruit. It's the wrong fruit entirely.
Here's what's actually happening when you put out basic how-to content.
The person downloading your "Complete Guide to Setting Up Your Own Podcast Studio" was never going to hire you. You just spent money attracting someone who wanted to replace you.
DIY content attracts DIY people. That's not a lead. That's a dead end.
Your lead magnet has to reveal the problem, not solve the whole thing. Make them realize how much they don't know. That's when they come to you.
Ask yourself one question before publishing anything: "Is the person who would download this the person I actually want to work with?"
If the answer is no, you've got the wrong hook in the water.
P.S. What's one piece of content you created that attracted completely the wrong type of lead? Drop it in the comments.
