Stop Copying. Start Building for Your Market.

Have you ever walked into a space and just felt different? More peaceful. More energized. Almost like the building was doing something to you? That's what Pier Paolo Alberghini was chasing when he studied architecture. He kept walking through cathedrals and temples, thinking, "How do they build something that makes people feel this way?" His professors gave him the answer: proportions. But not a cookie-cutter formula. The right proportions depend on where the building sits. The location shapes everything. And I think that's one of the most underrated lessons in business. We spend so much time trying to copy what's working for someone else. But what works in their market might not work in yours. The context matters. The environment matters. Great architects read their surroundings before they design. Great marketers do the exact same thing. P.S. What's one thing you've tried that worked for someone else but just didn't land for you?
